In my practice, I provide individual, family, couples, and group counseling for ages 4-60 years of age. I have high levels of competence ranging from behavioral/conduct issues, adjustment disorders, high functioning Autism, blended family/divorce issues, ADHD, self esteem issues, relational aggression/bullying, anxiety, depression, Bipolar and other mood disorders, personality disorders, substance abuse, marital issues/relational issues, life transition and a myriad of other complex challenges.

After 10 years in marketing, I pursued my calling to work with individuals, couples and families as they re-imagine their lives and relationships. Together, we address concerns like anxiety, chronic illness, grief, marital issues and family conflict. I also work with postpartum depression including traumatic births and parents of children with special needs. I know that taking a step into the unknown can be scary and overwhelming, but I believe that beginning this journey will change your life.

I very commonly work with clients who are dealing with anxiety, depression and other major life stressors related to change and transition. I also work with couples on their relationship or marriage. I particularly have a heart for, and have specialized in working with, people who are facing serious medical issues, including cancer, Alzheimer’s Disease, dementia, chronic and terminal illnesses, and the grief it can bring that is related to death and dying. I like to work with individuals who are experiencing an existential crisis of meaning. My style as a professional counselor is genuine, respectful, comforting and supportive.

The constant pressures of daily life, particularly during a pandemic, can leave us feeling overwhelmed, scared, and alone. I work with individuals and couples both in person and online, via telehealth. I've worked frequently with trauma and have received EMDR and Gottman Level 1 training. I believe in the power of perspective and utilizing internal strengths to overcome life’s difficulties and hardships. As a trauma informed psychotherapist, I help individuals struggling with relationships, depression, anxieties, mood disorders, stress, panic attacks, emotions, certain behaviors, sexual and abuse history, goal setting and life adjustments and transitions. Many of my clients have experienced lots of emotional distress. Many are experiencing relationship issues they feel are insurmountable, flashbacks, Self- esteem, confidence and intimacy problems. My orientation towards psychology was born out of my own difficulties in life; I want to make sure that those who seek help are able to get it. That said, I do best with clients who are at their worst, rock bottom. Fear of death and existential concerns, intrusive thoughts and urges, powerful and intense emotions, chronic stress and fatigue, loss of sense of self, lack of meaning and purpose in life, not being able to tell what's real and what isn't, regardless what it is. My goal is to help each client I work with feel empowered to be an active part of their own healing. I believe that my job is to create a safe space for clients to explore how to use many of their own strengths to get back on track when life has become overwhelming. I focus on teaching skills to bring some immediate relief while also addressing the underlying issues that are contributing to unhelpful patterns that have become part of the problem.
