Life changes are difficult. We all go through things in life that are overwhelming. Some people seeking help are struggling with the loss of a loved one. At the same time, others are dealing with changes in family dynamics and family stressors. My goal is to help address these emotions and experiences. I work with a variety of mental health and emotional issues, including anxiety, anger, depression, relationship transitions, separation/divorce, new marriage, new parents/ step-parents, loss of family member or friend, family of military and active-duty members, and deployment transitions.

In today’s society, we all come in different shape, sizes, ethnicities, and cultural backgrounds. We all have unique personalities, goals, and aspirations. There is no “one” right path to being the best you. I come from a multicultural home with two different cultural views and experiences. I was taught and believe that being the best version of our selves takes work. I want to aid you along that journey of self-discovery and becoming the best version of self. I graduated from Cleveland State university with a study in Psychology and Religion. I am completing my master’s degree in Marriage and family therapy at Capella University.

I am passionate about the transformative power of Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) to help couples reconnect and stop their negative cycle of painful disconnection, conflict, anger and hurt. EFT combines theory and structure into an effective model that helps guide couples back to a secure and loving relationship. I use EFT because I’ve seen its powerful results in couples’ lives. I balance acceptance, compassion and empathy with a results-oriented approach. Therapy is a partnership in which we will work on increasing self-awareness, strengthening relationships, building skills, and making life changes. I draw from my experience and training in Gestalt Couple, Family, Individual and Group Therapy, Maudsley Family Based Treatment, CBT, DBT, and SPACE for children with anxiety.

Whitney received her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Temple University and is licensed in both Ohio and Pennsylvania.

A major challenge for many individuals, couples, and families is creating and sustaining meaningful connections. Feeling connected to loved ones and friends, purposeful work, or creative endeavors is not easy. I am passionate about trauma, depression, anxiety, LGBQT concerns, personality disorders, and neurodivergence. An ideal client is an individual who has a growth mindset and explores their thoughts and feelings and how they impact their behavior. They may not understand how those thoughts derived from past experiences, but they are willing to open old wounds given the right tools. They feel safe and secure and want to heal through hard work and determination.

While I specialize in working with both men and women who are struggling with eating disorders, I also have experience working with people who are dealing with anxiety, depression, or other mood disorders, and with people who are just simply trying to find a better path both personally and professionally.
