My approach to counseling is that of a “fellow traveler” who takes the journey alongside of you in a way that is calm, open, supportive, empathic, and actively engaged with you at all times. I bring a unique existential approach to counseling that helps you in the “here and now,” and daily lived experiences of your life. I work with couples and individual’s ages 13-70. I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, intimacy issues (physical and emotional), LGBTQIA issues, men’s issues, marital conflict, sexual addiction, and complex personal life struggles. Journey Through Life, PLLC sees all kinds of families that maybe hurting from divorce, grief, blended families and broken relationships. In addition, the practice specializes in significant and marital relationships. The ideal is for a family that may not have the skills to see past the forest, but will be open to the infinite possibilities. Individual, Group Clinical Supervision, and Parenting Workshops are offered at the practice as well.

As a licensed psychotherapist I work with individuals, couples, and families from diverse cultural backgrounds dealing with emotional difficulties, relationship problems and various psychological conditions. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders. My goal is to help my clients define what they truly want, and then help them manage the obstacles that get in their way.

My work is dedicated to helping people develop healthy relationships and productive, satisfying lives. I have additional extensive training in Sex Therapy and sex addiction. I have been a corporate CEO, and am retired from the USAF with 22 years of service to this great country. It can be frustrating to feel and behave a certain way, knowing that you have or can be better at living. I am comfortable with those who know that something is not working and are considering how to change, so they can ultimately function better. My clients are those who come for one on one counseling, family members, and couples who struggle with addiction in the home. I have a wide range of experience in treating addiction, mental health, and supporting recovery.

I believe in integrated medical, mental health and substance use disorders treatment. Most of my counseling approach is based on Motivational Enhancement Techniques (MET), Client Centered, Cognitive Behavioral and Solution Focused theories. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) techniques to help individuals who are dealing with traumatic experiences. I also have years of experience providing recovery skills training for individuals dealing with substance use disorders.
