I love this work, because people's lives are so interesting! When people run into a snag, I can help. Working with individuals, couples, & families, I look at both the immediate concerns, as well as the 'big picture' of where it fits into their lives.
Session one is a consultation opportunity to meet and learn a bit about each other. Do you feel comfortable with me as you tell me what's brought you here? As I listen, I think about how I can help. If it's a good match, we can make a plan for treatment.
Sometimes family members can use a little help. My family therapy practice includes people who encounter a wide variety of life transitions, that can present challenges and problems. For example, relationships of all kinds -- such as a new relationship, couple conflict, family distress, and aging family members can be challenging.
Adjustments to daily life --ongoing conflicts, work-related stress, sexuality, loss and a host of other issues can sometimes create difficulty.
Mental & physical health concerns -- depression, anxiety, sexual problems, illness and disability are common concerns.
These concerns are addressed in a cost effective way, with a sensitivity to cultural differences.
