My goal is to help you learn to deal successfully with the challenges in your life. These challenges may come from inside yourself, or they may come from dealings with the outside world. I want to supply a warm, supportive, confidential, and non-judgmental environment. I want to understand you and what is troubling you; then, I will work with you to find solutions that are individualized for you. My emphasis is on practical, evidence based methods for helping people. I have advanced training in several forms of individual, couple and family therapy models.

People seek therapy because of the challenges that come to them through times of transition. If you want to focus on healing without having to worry about a third party monitoring your personal struggles and demanding a diagnosis, I am happy to partner with you directly, creating terms that we negotiate together. Healing is likely the most important task that you'll tend to in your adult life. I will guide you in that process without pathologizing or labeling you. Becoming the fullest expression of yourself is a worthwhile and deeply personal task, not to be compromised by political systems.

Through a compassionate and understanding relationship I guide my clients to explore the stories that constraint them form having richer relationships and a more gratifying life. Couples in all stages come to therapy. Whether love is new and they're trying to figure out life's challenges before taking the next step, or love is old and familiar but maybe it hasn't been working well lately (or for the last several years). It's best to come in and sit down with a third party not connected to your family or friends and be able to sort through everything in a supportive and safe environment. I even work with people who have decided not to be a couple, but are committed to co-parenting.
