Marlon holds a Bachelor's in Psychology from CSU Sacramento, a Master's in Counseling from Chapman University, and a Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Counseling. In 2012, Marlon received special recognition from the U.S. Congress, California State Senate, and the California State Assembly for his work promoting mental health in education.
Marlon's effort toward integration and implementation of mental health services in schools has been commended in the Sacramento Bee and the Roseville Press Tribune. Most recently, in 2016, Marlon was appointed by California State Superintendent of Public Instruction to develop policy that promotes student mental health in California.
