About
I work with foster/adopted children and their families, as well as individuals and couples seeking counseling. I help families work through difficulties including depression, anxiety, trauma, school adjustment, attachment, and family conflict. My passion for working with families dates back to my undergraduate training in psychology at UCLA. I have worked extensivley with children, adolescents, and parents on overcoming obstacles related to cognitive, social and emotional needs. Upon special request, I provide in-home therapy services in the Bay Area.
I utilize evidence-based practice in psychotherapy to ensure effectiveness and create long-term change. Therefore, my perspective on issues is based on the latest research in psychology and neuroscience. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy is a proven method that I integrate with Attachment Theory to address the influence of early childhood emotional experiences.
My approach is collaborative and supportive, so I work together with clients to establish goals for therapy. I believe parents are an amazing resource for their children and it takes courage to ask for help for their family. I enjoy providing presentations to parents, educators and administrators on topics related to mental health and wellness.
