Hello, I’m Marlena! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of NJ. I graduated from Monmouth University with a Masters in Social Work with a clinical focus in children and families. Having worked in a variety of settings, I am fortunate to have a wealth of knowledge of the full continuum of mental health care. I am passionate about working with motivated adults, couples, and families on a variety of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, relationship issues, self-esteem building, life transitions, and gender and sexuality exploration.
My therapeutic approach is heavy on affirmation, empathetic listening, and value alignment to help clients achieve the balance that allows them to feel fulfilled. I believe all of my clients already have the ability to achieve their most meaningful goals, and I use an eclectic, skills based approach to help them recognize and grow these special abilities.
I strive to create a therapeutic environment that feels like a soft place to land, where I am able to hold space for whatever my clients are carrying. My hope is to help individuals and couples find peace with the natural rise and fall of life, while pursuing their goals through the use of mindfulness, self-compassion, and of course, a little bit of humor.
