After 30 years as an occupational therapist helping individuals overcome physical challenges, I returned to school to pursue my desire to become a licensed counselor. I believe that mental health is as important as physical ability and that it is never too late to pursue a dream. I believe that asking for help is a sign of strength rather than one of weakness.
Open and honest communication is essential to build trust needed for a successful relationship. In addition to talk therapy, I am trained in EMDR to address trauma, PIT training by Pia Melody to address co-dependency and relationships and expressive arts to provide experiential methods of expression. Individual problems require individual strategies.
My goal is that every client will leave their session with a sense of relief from being heard and validated. I do not promise immediate solutions. I do promise to work with you to develop insight and solutions to help you achieve your goals. Clients will know they are not alone, and that change is possible.
