My name is Mark Wrathall, and I am a Clinical Psychologist (license PSY20023) based in the Riverside area of California. I primarily work with adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, family, or parenting issues using a Cognitive-Behavioral approach that emphasizes personal empowerment and making the best choices consistent with the client’s values. I typically work with a diverse adult client population and appreciate the diverse experiences and backgrounds of people I interact with. I generally work with patients who struggle with anxiety, depression, family issues, relationship, and parenting issues.
I approach therapy in a collaborative manner understanding that the client is the expert of their life and the therapist is a consultant. I tend to use a Cognitive Behavioral framework, but also understand the client in context of the various systems (cultural, familial, societal) they exist in.
It is important to me that I understand a client’s perspective and so I typically ask a lot of questions. I want to understand a clients experiences and values. I seek to help clients come to their own conclusions about what will work for them. I want clients to feel understood without fear of being judged.
