Is your mind at peace? Has stress led to emotional and physical consequences that have become unbearable? Maybe you "manage" your stress with addictive substances or behaviors. Or maybe a family member has an addiction that's turning your world upside down and you have no idea what to do. Stress is not a fact of life you have to accept. Neither are addictions. Using a mindful, compassionate and nonjudgmental approach I can help you learn how to gain a fresh perspective on the stressors in your life. Working together, not to "get by", but to thrive. I also help people quit smoking, and offer online sessions and workshops.
I have two specialities. 1) Helping family members who are devastated by addiction, as well assessment and treatment of a person using/smoking. 2) I enjoy helping people overcome stress, anxiety, depression and chronic pain from a holistic perspective. I engage the entire you by bringing all of me - my compassion, experience, wisdom and humor.
Family members in addiction require specific skills to move their loved one into treatment. You don't have to wait until your loved one hits "bottom" or use “detached love.” I’ll empower with you with evidence-based skills to help smooth the rollercoaster of addiction. I’ll work with you in establishing self-care, a vital piece that’s too often ignored.

Professional Connections

Mark Levine is an excellent therapist who blends a caring presence with deep expertise in the areas of mindfulness and substance use treatment.  He is a wealth of information for those struggling in these areas, and their families.  It's also worth noting that Mark has incredible musical talent, which he has channeled towards writing a musical about the opioid epidemic.  The musically-inclined will find him a kindred spirit, and even for those of us without musical talent, he is a joy to work with.
