About
I provide Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT) to enhance your life satisfaction, sense of mastery, and connectedness with others, utilizing a warm, evidence-based, humane, collaborative manner. Therapy is not something I do TO you, but instead, a "journey" that we take together in partnership (and sometimes in laughter). We will go at your pace and focus on YOUR goals for you. I will attempt to build on your strengths and the coping skills you already possess, and to educate you about communication, problem-solving, and stress-management tools that are new to you. I have been in practice for 30 years.
Since 1992, I have split my time among three settings: (1) private practice, (2) working at three local hospitals, and (3) teaching/training. Specifically, I previously taught part-time at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. Currently, I teach undergrads at Queensborough Community College (part-time).
To stay current, I regularly attend professional conferences. I return feeling validated, challenged, and energized to share my new knowledge. I have also learned a lot from my patients and students over the years and hope to learn more from you. Please feel free to call for a free phone consultation.
