I practice a form of psychotherapy called psychodynamic therapy, which focuses on underlying issues leading to problematic emotions and patterns of behavior. Most of my work has been in the treatment of borderline personality disorder and schizophrenia, though I have experience working with a range of patients and conditions. I have particular interest in working with people who have not previously, or only partially, responded to treatment. In addition to my private work, I hold faculty appointments in the departments of psychiatry at the University of Central Florida and Tufts Medical School.
I received my academic and clinical training at the University of Pittsburgh and its affiliated psychiatric hospital, where I have also worked on staff, and completed additional postgraduate training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. I am actively involved in the didactic teaching and supervision of psychiatry trainees.
