Working from a strengths-based perspective, I provide psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and groups. With humor and compassion, I strive to create a safe space where clients can focus on personal growth, self-integration, and positive change. Particular areas of interest and expertise include depression, anxiety, grief & loss, sexuality/identity, as well as the challenges impacting the LGBT community. I work with a number of artists and performing artists who are seeking to increase their self-awareness, unblock their creativity and reach their full artistic potential.
Most symptoms are adaptive; there are usually good reasons for why people think and operate in ways that may not make sense to themselves or others. I help my clients deepen their understanding of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I specialize in humanistic/relational, cognitive-behavioral, and acceptance and commitment based treatment approaches.
My presence is best described as warm, open-minded, non-judgmental and caring. Over the course of our work, this collaborative process will lead to positive change and empower individuals to make choices that are in line with their identified goals.
