I am a very realistic, down-to-earth, straightforward therapist, and I strive to be both a genuine human being and an effective clinician. I work very well with teens, young adults, and adults from a wide variety of backgrounds, and have a solid understanding of a range of behavioral and developmental issues that can occur during these stages of life. In particular, I specialize in treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), anxiety, depression, and PTSD. In conjunction with treating these issues, my goal is to also decrease the internalized stigmatization that often accompanies having them.

My personal experiences give me a unique perspective and ability to address OCD, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Primarily I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a therapy technique that works to counter thought patterns that are the result of and a contributing factor to OCD, depression, and anxiety. I also utilize EMDR in the treatment of PTSD and CPTSD.

I bring to my practice a collection of unique experiences, well-rounded training, and a worldview that allows me to understand and connect with a variety of people and personalities in a therapeutically beneficial way. I strive to relate to my clients with empathy and authenticity: you are not a bundle of issues to me: you are a person and you matter.

Primarily, I work with clients who struggle with OCD, PTSD, depression, and anxiety. I also do very well with regular "developmental" life issues (transitions and existential issues). In all cases I will take a holistic approach and work to determine how your issues interface with your background and your present-day life. Most clients will see improvement in the first few months of therapy.
