I began my career as a Pastoral Counselor in 1989. I worked as a Pastoral Counselor both in church and hospital settings. My internship in Marriage and Family therapy began in 1993 at Mercy-Baptist Medical Center in New Orleans under the direction of Dr. Myron Madden and Dr. Doug Ezell. My primary focus is now in the area of Marriage and Family Therapy. I have an earned PhD in Family Psychology and an MS in Clinical Counseling. I am a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, and the American Psychological Association.
I earned a Masters degree from NOBTS with a specialization in Adolescent Ministry/Counseling. I have earned an MS in Law and have taught Child Psychology and Family Law Mediation on the college level. I also supervise graduate students from Southeastern La. Univ. My specialty is working with families and married couples who may be struggling.
I am also a Child Custody Evaluator for the 21st JDC as well as a Divorce Mediator and a member of the Family Mediation Council. I am a Parenting Coordinator for the 19th and 21st District Courts. My preferred approach to therapy is called Reality Therapy/Choice Theory. I welcome answering any questions you may have and hope to help you and your family.
