Hello. My name is Mark. I am a gay, disabled therapist (licensed clinical social worker, LCSW). I believe that we all have the strengths to overcome or cope with the challenges we face, we might just need a little support. I work with a wide range of clients, but I have a passion for those with disabilities, those with foster care experience, and those in the LGBTQI community. I work with clients facing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. While in session with me you can expect a direct and empathetic approach.
I take an electric approach to therapy. This means I focus on you as a unique individual. I pull from multiple approaches to find the best fit for you and your needs. Common approaches I pull from include cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed and strengths-based.
Sometimes we need someone to listen and not jump to solutions. Sometimes we need someone to sit with us in our thoughts and feelings. Other times, we need someone to be active and communicate. I believe in a mix of both in my therapeutic work with clients. I often ask questions to aid clients.
