Psychotherapy is a powerful process through which we can learn about the ways we attempt to manage difficult circumstances, feelings, and conflicts through the lens of our experiences and relationships both past and present. Therapy is an opportunity for individuals to develop their own understanding of how they came to be who they are- and why. This often provides valuable information about how we might meet present day challenges across the broad demands of everyday life. Therapy can be very effective for most people, and I make every effort to create a welcoming and collaborative environment.
I am a psychodynamic psychologist who uses insight-oriented and relational cues to facilitate and accomplish the work of therapy. When appropriate, I may suggest and introduce the use of specific techniques from other theoretical orientations as a means of helping to manage particularly disruptive symptoms while supporting engagement in vital activities.
As a psychologist I believe in my obligation to be of service to my community, both as a clinician and as a resource for helping people find the right kind of help. I encourage you to contact me via phone for a no-fee consultation to discuss what might be appropriate for you, your family member, or friend.
