As a counselor, my focus is on helping individuals develop into the best possible version of themself. This typically involves things including- but not limited to - appropriate goal setting, coping skills, time management, social skill-building, emotional exploration, exploring core values, and addressing maladaptive behaviors. All of these techniques are applied at a pace set by both the client and counselor. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, and gestalt therapy as the leading frameworks to help my clients.
As a counselor, I have experience with adolescents to adults dealing with ADHD, anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, and gender identity. I pride myself on being both genuine and non-judgmental with my clients. This allows me to build rapport with my clients and create a positive and professional relationship.
I work directly with my clients to be able to set goals and help them make progress with the issues they present with. This process is collaborative and adaptive. I am always upfront about the purpose and framework of the treatment process, so my clients always understand the point and function of their treatment. This often leads to personalized techniques.
