My name is Marjorie Manuel, LCSW practicing in the state of California. I am very big on rapport building and involving the clients in driving their own treatments, which include active participation in goal setting and working on realistic expectations in therapy. My background experiences were focused on depression, anxiety, stress, counseling, mental health illness, substance use, grief, and military.
I use motivational interviewing to get to know my clients and actively listen to their stories. Some approaches I like to incorporate include CBT, DBT, solution-focused, systems theory, humanistic, feministic, psychodynamic, social learning, and behaviorism.
I have vast experience working with adults and elderly clients with physical and emotional/mental disabilities along with co-occurring substance use. I like to make my clients feel safe during sessions. I like to be transparent to my clients and have them be supported and respected without judgment.
