I use a collaborative and coaching approach in understanding and appreciating each client's story, goals, and desire for change. We focus on both strengths and challenges. I hope to support, educate and motivate clients so that health, wellness and a mindful approach can be utilized by clients as they move forward and live fully. My treatment philosophy includes providing a safe, open and confidential environment in which clients can discuss, learn and try out new ways of communicating and being in relationships, managing and living with a variety of mental/physical health issues, and fully realizing their goals and potential.
I enjoy working with individual adults, families and couples. My treatment involves a thorough clinical assessment and treatment plan, which is a collaborative process. My clients often include families, especially those in flux and changing. I utilize a brief, coaching-style solution-focused approach with such disorders as anxiety and depression.
When appropriate, I enjoy utilizing humor with clients as a manner of coping with stress, and I use mindfulness practices in my work as well. I am continually humbled by my brief yet meaningful opportunities to participate in my clients' unique journeys and progress toward wellness and solutions. Like a coach, I celebrate with my clients as they progress.
