Hello, I'm Marjorie Bown, a bilingual licensed clinical therapist with a master's degree in social work and over 15 years of psychotherapy services. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT for goal-oriented treatment) to focus on a practical approach to help change patterns of negative thinking as it impacts functioning. I also use Solution Focused Therapy to help with current stressors for short-term sessions.
Clients I typically work with are very invested in their own treatment, mostly women to address women's issues (menopause, divorce, relationships). Clients are engaged in treatment by completing therapy homework and attending all sessions.
I chose this career because I wanted to contribute meaningfully. I wanted to feel my existence is utilitarian, I was seeking purpose and this career makes me feel my life does make a difference in this world. And the impact I can have on others will be my legacy.
