About
I am an advocate for working with all marginalized populations. As a minority, I empathize with experiences related to micro-aggressions, discrimination, intergenerational trauma, and other oppressive experiences. I enjoy helping clients who are aware there's a need for change, and I am open to working towards goals that may be unclear at first. I thoroughly believe that we are all the experts of our own lives and only we can recognize the struggles we’ve faced.
I operate from a Person-Centered approach, which means I believe the person sitting across from me in session is someone who is capable of self-directed growth. With empathy, unconditional-positive regard, and authenticity, I trust my clients are able to develop a better sense of self-worth, trust in themselves, and willingness to continue exploring life.
Therapy can look very different for each person, and as someone who has received therapy, I understand how intimidating it can be to initiate treatment. As a therapist now, I strive to create a comforting environment for my clients because when you come to therapy, you are allowing yourself a safe space to heal from trauma.
