I am an advocate for working with all marginalized populations. I empathize with experiences related to micro-aggressions, discrimination, intergenerational trauma, substance abuse, violence in the home, and other oppressive and traumatic experiences. I enjoy working with clients who are aware there's a need for change, and I am dedicated to working towards goals that may be unclear at first. I thoroughly believe that we are all the experts of our own lives and only we can recognize the struggles we’ve faced.
I approach therapy in a holistic manner, which means I believe the person sitting across from me in session is someone who is capable of self-directed growth. With empathy, individualized care, and empowerment, I trust my clients are capable of developing a better sense of self, trust in themselves, and willingness to continue exploring a balanced life.
Therapy can look very different for each person, and as someone's client myself, I understand how intimidating it can be to begin treatment. I strive to be a therapist that creates a comforting and safe environment for my clients through open reciprocity in our interactions. I do not expect someone to openly trust a stranger with their life experiences.
