I have 38 years experience counseling people with relationship issues; couples with family and marital problems; parents needing help with teens; straight and gay/lesbian couples wanting a healthier relationship. Relationship problems trigger issues like low self esteem,depression, and anxiety. I believe that most unhappiness stems from one or more problem relationships. My ideal client is tired of others trying to control or change them through behaviors like criticism, nagging, threatening, blaming, and complaining. And, my ideal client is one who wants to stop using these same behaviors that are harmful to their relationships.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Bible and Religion from Anderson University. I completed my master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Indiana Wesleyan University. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. Additionally, I have post-graduate training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have worked in residential facilities for at-risk youth, schools, prisons, churches and private practices.

It’s so rewarding to help people navigate their struggles and learn new skills to help them move through life more easily. I have spent the last few years of my career working closely with young adults and adults struggling with anxiety, depression and trauma. I also work with those struggling with addictions. I take a holistic approach with dealing with addictions. Treating all the issues that have lead to the use of substance. My typical client starts therapy seeking help to resolve issues that have lead to problems with school, work and/or relationships. I use several different modes of therapy to help them reach their goals such as motivational interviewing, supportive reflection, dialectical behavioral therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy.
