I earned my undergraduate degree in Bible and Religion from Anderson University. I completed my master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Indiana Wesleyan University. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. Additionally, I have post-graduate training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have worked in residential facilities for at-risk youth, schools, prisons, churches and private practices.

I received an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis in 2003. Since then I have worked in various capacities in the mental health field in several states. It’s so rewarding to help people navigate their struggles and learn new skills to help them move through life more easily. My favorite moment in therapy is when something finally clicks for the client and all of the sudden a shift occurs. After being stuck and in so much pain there’s finally a new path that brings hope.

I specialize in Biblical, Christian Counseling. I believe the Bible holds great truth when addressing many of today's personal, marital, and family dilemmas and circumstances. My 35 years of pastoral counseling allows for professional and spiritual help and healing to those who hurt personally, emotionally, and spiritually.

I have spent the last few years of my career working closely with young adults and adults struggling with anxiety, depression and trauma. I also work with those struggling with addictions. I take a holistic approach with dealing with addictions. Treating all the issues that have lead to the use of substance. My typical client starts therapy seeking help to resolve issues that have lead to problems with school, work and/or relationships. I use several different modes of therapy to help them reach their goals such as motivational interviewing, supportive reflection, dialectical behavioral therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy.

I am a Master's level Licensed Clinical Social Worker with Healing Hearts of Indy, Inc. I previously worked as a Senior Human Resources Director which, coupled with my own recovery and training, gives me a unique combination of skills on many issues including shame, abandonment, marriage and relationship difficulties, depression and suicide ideation, codependency, perfectionism, procrastination, spirituality, sexuality, food addiction, negative body image, domestic violence/verbal abuse, job change/stress/loss, and work/life balance. I have over 13 years' experience working with people who are going through life's transitions. Everyone struggles with transitions and decision making at some point and through reflection things can seem clearer. I work with women who are transitioning into motherhood, dealing with the demands of motherhood or struggle of addiction. I have been trained in working with women who are experiencing postpartum mood disorders.
