I am a LPC and I am passionate about helping children and tweens who have anxiety learn how to cope using mindfulness, cognitive behavior therapy techniques, play therapy techniques, and EMDR. The majority of my clients struggle with difficulty concentrating, sleeping, constant worry, and feelings of being on edge or restlessness. Their worry persists through all aspects of their life, and sometimes my patients show up as irritable and angry. Kids and teens can also develop headaches or stomach aches due to their constant anxiety.
You want your child or teen to find joy in life and be able to handle daily life challenges. Research show one of the best ways to help a child or teen succeed is to have the parents involved in the healing process too. I offer parent sessions as well as continued communicationt to monitor your child's process.
My clients appreciate that I am warm, compassionate, and have a "down to earth" approach. I understand the difficulties of making the first call for therapy.
