People want and need to grow in their capacity to experience emotional intimacy with self, other, and even the universe. Emotional intimacy is deep connection, coupled with an absence of fear and freedom of expression. My personal and professional experience is that when humans feel safe and truly heard, we are able to be more aware of our full range of experience. If, in this state, we ask or are met by the right questions, personal truth springs forward.
Accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy (AEDP) inspires my approach. In addition to methods from AEDP, I incorporate into my work somatic approaches, skills and concepts from dialectical behavior therapy, Buddhist teachings, and concepts from life coaching.
Life is challenging, and we are not wired to process overwhelming emotions alone. We need attuned, non-judgmental people in our lives who nurture and strengthen our ability to connect so we can adapt in ways that reflect our values. I would be honored to speak with you.
