You are not alone. I enjoy working with postpartum and pregnant woman and couples. The transition to parenthood is often a time of excitement but also a time of great change and disruption. Thinking together about the impact the arrival of a baby will have/has had on your identity, relationship and lifestyle can alleviate many stressors and fears. I believe therapy can help you to gain new insights and a new perspective on how to connect with others, effectively cope with stress and pursue the life you desire.
This growth begins by approaching each concern with an open and collaborative attitude, where thoughts and feelings can be safely explored. I believe that we come to know ourselves through relationships, first with our caregivers and later with our friends and romantic partners. Using this framework, we can explore what is keeping you stuck.
Gaining a greater understanding of yourself and your relationships can lead to great relationship satisfaction as well an increase in and ability to understand and tolerate feelings of all kinds.
