I came into the field of school psychology through my teaching career in New York City. I became fascinated with child development through my years of having conversations with children, and I wanted to learn more about how their minds worked so I could help them define their problems and begin to explore ways to help them to find solutions. I have worked with students of all ages for more than 35 years as a school psychologist, as well as a teacher of general and special education. My experience gives me a unique perspective to conduct psychological and diagnostic evaluations for students with academic and behavioral challenges.
In addition to working with children and adolescents, I am able to evaluate college students who require testing to document their disability or the need for classroom and/or testing accommodations. The stressors of school or social situations may cause symptoms of anxiety and/or depression for young people, and my training can help alleviate symptoms.
A caring and empathetic professional can help children and teenagers know that they are not alone, and that there are solutions when they are able to share their thoughts in order to transform their lives.
