My name is Marilee Melendez and I have been practicing for almost 4 years. I received my bachelor's in Psychology from Texas Tech University and my master's in Counseling from the University of Texas Permian Basin. As a first-generation Mexican-American, I deeply connect with how our cultural backgrounds affect our lives. I provide therapy in both Spanish and English. I have experience with trauma, immigration documentation, LGBTQ+, couples, children, adolescents, and adults.
I enjoy working with couples, adolescents, and adults the most. I like working with people who are truly invested in therapy and eager to apply changes to their lives. I like working with individuals who are trying to break generational trauma and have strong cultural factors affecting their mental health.
Having experienced the impact of mental health stigma during my upbringing, I am deeply committed to breaking generational cycles that hinder individuals from embracing alternative approaches. My Hispanic background has further fueled my passion for promoting mental health awareness across diverse cultures.
