I am a bilingual/ bicultural Psychotherapist with more than 25 years of experience working with Latinos. I have specialized on issues related to immigration process and the coexistent mental conditions as depression, anxiety , trauma and the impact of Domestic violence in each member of the family. I have worked in mental health clinics in Manhathan, Queens, Brooklyn and Westchester. The Mental Health Association of America and the Psychiatric Foundation of America have both recognized me and bicultural program with an Award for cultural competent intervention and advancing the mental health on minorities.
Over the years, I have been successful treating individualily, couples and families who have been struggling with the gap between cultures, assimilating and prejudice to the host society and modifiying roles in order to accomodate to the present demands and family structure. In the present I have received certification in Family constelations.
I graduated as a Clinical Psychologist in Bogota Colombia and sucessfully finished a Masters degree as a Clinical Social worker at New York University. These approches have improveed clinical interventions and strategics to treat the our conflicts. I have a extensive experience working with the latino comunity in non-profirt Mental Health facilities.
