My name is Maribel Gonzalez, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) providing Telehealth services to clients in California. I work with adults currently experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, and issues in interpersonal relationships. I tailor my sessions to each client's individualistic needs so they can navigate any life adversities they may be experiencing. My approach varies to the needs of each client. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).
I believe in order for clients to begin making progress, they have to feel comfortable with me. Therefore, my goal at the beginning of therapy is to establish a safe environment for my client. I will then work collaboratively with my client to establish goals for therapy and build on current strengths to meet those goals.
I found that my style of therapy and approach is a good fit for individuals in the process of learning how to overcome their anxiety, depression, or current life transitions. I work with clients to develop new skills to navigate new life changes that may seem difficult to overcome.
