Hello. My name is Maribel Flores Hartford, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. I have worked with a variety of people, from as young as newborn all the way to geriatric clients, in customer service, educational, medical, social services, and substance use outpatient settings for a total of 17 years. I typically work with Spanish-speaking adults (18 and over), families, and minors (13-17 y/o). I can help with any issues. My goal is to genuinely help my clients 100%, as I genuinely believe in just being transparent and caring about their overall well-being.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy because I like to provide visual evidence to my clients on how they are making progress and meets my personal style, as the structure is needed for success, growth, gives clear goals, and makes sure that responsibilities are clearly defined.
With that being said, I will assign homework occasionally for clients to complete off sessions to gain the skills they need to become independently successful, and honest feedback will be provided when needed. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is not for everyone, and I am willing to be flexible and work with whatever approach works best for my clients.
