I am Dr. Maribel Aheran and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor licensed in multiple states. I specialize in ADHD, Trauma, Grief, Depression, Anxiety, and PTSD. Typically, I help clients who are veterans or active duty, have ADHD, experienced trauma, identify as LGBTQ+, experienced grief, are neurodivergent. The most common theoretical approaches I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic, Adlerian, Trauma Therapy, Play Therapy.
I first knew I wanted to be a therapist during my 1st year of college, however, I’ve decided to complete a degree in education and become a teacher. I’ve worked in the public school system for 15 years, serving as a teacher, Special Education Coordinator, and Guidance Counselor.
Eventually, I’ve decided to chase my true passion and became a Clinical Mental Health Therapist. What makes this career my passion, is having the ability to help people and impact their lives in a positive way!
