Whatever brought you to consider therapy, know that you are not alone. Many of us struggle to manage intense emotions, connect deeply with others, meet our goals, live up to our expectations, accept ourselves, or find meaning in life. In a safe and supportive space you are free to express yourself openly, honestly, and authentically, and together we can work to discover the ways you would like your life to be different. The approach we take to implement those changes will be guided by your strengths, values, and needs.
Through developing mental, emotional, and physical self-awareness, my clients build skills that enable them to handle painful thoughts, emotions, and experiences in more adaptive ways. They steadily shed ways of relating with the world and themselves that are harmful, unsustainable, or no longer serving them, making space to bring their true values to life.
I find mindfulness and nurturing the mind-body connection to be powerful tools in accessing our natural healing abilities. Overcoming a number of my own mental health struggles in the past has yielded a wealth of compassion and empathy for the clients I see today, as well as faith in their abilities to heal, grow, and build a life worth living.
