My name is Maria Vega and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Los Angeles, CA. I work with adolescents and adults specializing in anxiety, stress, depression, and trauma. I use a strengths perspective and trauma-informed approach to aid in improving client's confidence in themselves and believe in their capability of making progress. My approach to therapy varies on the needs of each client. I have experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, and trauma-informed CBT.
I have been working closely with transitional youth for the past 4 years who have been experiencing stress and anxiety from the expectations society has put on young adults. I have also recently found a connection with adults struggling with relationship conflicts and stress from expectations from work, family, and self.
I knew I wanted to be a therapist when I found myself enjoying volunteering, being the listener in my family and friend group, and seeing people thrive. I always told myself if I was going to be a contributor to society then I was going to pick a career that helped others be the best version of themselves.
