I am a licensed clinical social worker. I have worked with clients on a wide range of things including eating disorders, trauma, and depression but my areas of expertise and passion are OCD, anxiety disorders, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
For many years I worked in a variety of settings with children and adolescents with behavioral concerns related to their mental health to come up with interventions to be used in the home or classroom settings. For the past 10+ years I have worked in an adult day treatment program specializing in OCD and related anxiety disorders.
My approach is based very much in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as several subsets of that including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Exposure and Response prevention, and Dialectic Behavior Therapy, though I like to take an eclectic approach and tailor my style to what each individual would benefit from the most.
I believe in being very direct, transparent, and non-judgmental with clients. I believe in validating what individuals might be going through and also challenging them to see things from a different perspective when needed.
