I am an interpersonal therapist who worked for 4 years in a college counseling center and have been working out of my private practice since 2010. While my overarching approach is interpersonal, I utilize other theories as needed. Cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and emotionally focused therapy are examples of the other schools from which I pull. Clients are not a "one size fits all." Before becoming a therapist, I taught school for twenty years. I feel fortunate to have been able to work in two especially gratifying helping fields.
In my theoretical approach, I believe that most human struggles are rooted in interpersonal difficulty- therefore whether a client is 20 or 60, relationships are critical to well-being. I hope to help my clients find ways to strengthen and deepen their human connections.
