I am a fully bilingual and bicultural Psychotherapist with over 30 years of professional experience, which includes working with women, survivors of traumatic childhood and family, and domestic violence. My counseling approach is based on an empowerment model. My goal is to help women heal from their emotional wounds, and teaching them different ways of perceiving and resolving their problems, healthy attitudes, and good communication skills for working with their families, partners, and peers so they can make positive choices in their own lives. I help my clients to focus on their own strengths, and I take into account that a client's gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, class, race, religion, and health may impact how he/she perceives and experiences an issue. I integrate Yoga therapy into psychotherapy in order to assist my clients in their healing process, and to help them achieve their goals.
I enjoy working with women who might be suffering the effects of one or more traumatic life events.Initiating this process can be a difficult step to take, but we will work collaboratively in a safe and nurturing environment to address your needs.
