Hello! Thank you for taking the first step to your well-being. My name is M. Ivonne Villegas, and I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Long Beach, California. I offer in-person sessions and statewide via telehealth. I am a bilingual (English and Spanish) and bicultural therapist who enjoys working with diverse individuals from a wide range of ages, sexual orientations, ethnicities, and backgrounds. I practice from an eclectic approach integrating strength-based, TF-CBT, client-centered, solution-focus, and emotion-focus approaches while focusing on fostering resilience and self-awareness.
I have over 8 years of experience working with Individuals, families, and couples and enjoy working with Youth, adults, single parents, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life transitions, grief, trauma and PTSD, behavioral issues, career counseling, DV and Domestic Abuse, LGBTQ+, first-generation issues, and immigration adjustments.
I like to approach goal setting with clients in a thoughtful, collaborative, client-centered approach. This often starts by building trust by establishing a supportive environment.
