Hi, I’m Dr. Maria Bello, a licensed psychologist with over 10 years of experience helping teens and young adults (ages 13-40) develop the tools they need to thrive and overcome their anxieties. Many of the clients I work with struggle with anxious, repetitive, or intrusive thoughts that they describe as "debilitating" or "spiraling.” They often get stuck in a “thought loop” that results in negative patterns to try and decrease or completely get rid of the thoughts. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work and that’s where therapy comes in! I am passionate about helping my clients use components of CBT to finally challenge these patterns.

I specialize in anxiety related disorders, OCD, and depression. My therapeutic work is based on principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) including ERP, DBT, and ACT. Additionally, I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming psychologist and have completed training in the provision of gender-affirming care. I will be taking new clients in September 2025.
If you or your teen are ready to make the first step, I am happy to answer any questions you may have during a free 15-minute consultation. I aim to get to know my clients and guide them through practical strategies that I believe fit their needs. I am licensed in Maryland and am able to see clients who are located in any of the 42 PSYPACT states.
