Our lives are more complicated today than ever before. We are pulled in so many different directions - work, home, children who are dealing with lockdowns and bullying, and financial insecurity to name a few. And those emotions! They begin to overwhelm and contribute to heightened anxiety, depression, trauma, and exhaustion. Having someone to talk with and process thoughts and emotions helps - being able to learn to recognize unhealthy coping skills and replace with positive coping skills becomes a healing process. I am honored when someone invites me into their lives in this deeply personal way.
Depression and anxiety often are interrelated. Learning to reduce the physical reactions to anxiety helps to prepare a person for the important work of identifying and challenging thoughts/perspectives that are the root cause of so much emotional discomfort. Most of us need help in this process.
