My belief as a clinician holds that the most useful tool in therapy is the collaborative relationship between therapist and client. I operate from what is often referred to as a psychodynamic or relational psychodynamic approach. In therapy our tasks are to build a trusting relationship, to discover and understand your beliefs and feelings on their deepest levels, to discover how your history and experiences have shaped your beliefs, and then to address how these beliefs and feelings have helped you as well as limited you.
I am experienced with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, grief, life change, divorce, sexuality, integration, relationships, trauma, and more.
I encourage anyone seeking therapy, especially for the first time, to reach out and have a brief phone conversation. This is a great way for you to get a better feel for me and helps me determine if I am the best fit for you.
