So often we feel we need to face the concerns in our lives alone- possibly from from fear of rejection or somehow believing that we don't deserve to be heard. Our feelings and beliefs about ourselves and others can stunt or harm relationships within ourselves, with others and with God. Sometimes we forget or don't know how or are afraid to move forward in our lives in ways that will bring balance, motivation and empowerment. Exploring your history, not to dwell there, but to understand how it has affected your current life, along with utilizing new and beneficial tools, can lead to a healthier and better flow of living.
In order to effectively deal with anxiety, depression, and childhood and/or lifelong trauma, i use a variety of approaches in counseling sessions. These include cognitive and behavioral tools, somatic work, insight work, and EMDR along with play therapy techniques as appropriate. I enjoy working with adults, teens, pre-teens and children.
At Placer Confluence Counseling, the key word is 'with.' With each other, with compassion through the process and with openness to exploring, learning and growing, it is my desire that the adventure of counseling give rise to healing from the tyranny of the past (however long ago) into the convergence and flow of connection, insight, and hope.
