I work with men and women facing both the 'big' and the seemingly common issues of life. Big and seemingly small transitions: yours or a loved one's cancer diagnosis; career changes including retirement; entering or leaving a relationship; pregnancy or pregnancy loss; loss of a loved one. Grief, anxiety, anger, depression, persistent feelings of sadness. I do not work with serious psychiatric diagnoses. Those who work with me soon come to appreciate the value of being heard; of being seen and accepted-despite the sharp edges that may appear as we try to protect ourselves from the pain the world sometimes presents us.
Through deep listening, healing begins; by learning how our brain and neurological system function to protect us, we begin to understand the automatic nature of our responses; and through mindfulness and biofeedback work, we develop tools that help us regain a sense of control over how we respond when presented with adversity.
As both a nurse and a psychotherapist, I work with clients on multiple levels. Physical, emotional, and spiritual issues are explored. Significant health issues, like cancer, bring clients face to face with the 'big' questions. What am I here to do? Have I made a difference? Will I be remembered?

Women's Process Group (Full-building waitlist)
Highly supportive and committed women's group will meet weekly in Denver's Congress Park Neighborhood. New group beginning in Spring, 2019. Members in this ongoing group re-commit to weekly attendance every 6 weeks. Participants work on communication style, relationship issues, grief/loss, chronic illness, cancer, anxiety, depression, mood disorders and other quality of life issuesLearning that others have questions & challenges similar to yours can be reassuring. Seeing fellow group members meet these challenges with courage and resilience provides a powerful sense of hope & optimism.
