Groups
Positive Dependence Group
Positive Dependence groups are designed for individuals who want to work on how they relate in important relationships in their lives. Members learn building block concepts, coping skills, and tools to apply. They learn how to depend on oneself and others in a mutual, empowering fashion. Both the culturally problematic term "Codependent," and the tendency to be afraid to love or depend at all ("Nodependent?") will be investigated. Difficulties with boundaries, Overreacting/Underreacting, Caretaking at the expense of oneself, and Problematic Communication Styles are covered. Groups are 75 minutes, meeting weekly for 20 weeks. Members can also discuss longer-term group therapy options.

Chapters
Chapters is a 20-week group designed for high-functioning adults ages 60-80. The focus is on empowerment, engaging in life more fully, and continued personal growth and development. Debunking myths about this important stage in the developmental lifespan, along with ageism and terms such as "elderly," are a core component of the group, as we together examine how this cultural bias (often symbolized by feelings of loneliness, isolation) can serve other generations, often unbeknownst to them. Shifts in relationships, perspectives, and needs are highlighted, as is finding new meaning and purpose in life. Don't lose hope--explore and create with the group!
