I have 20 years of experience in various settings, ranging from medical clinics, inpatient hospitals, and private practice. I specialize in helping adults, teens, and children emotionally cope with medical conditions, chronic pain, and eating disorders. Typical clients may have anxiety, panic attacks, or depressive symptoms related to issues such as: GI disorders, chronic back pain, recent injury, headaches, binge eating, and body image concerns. Another specialty is sport psychology- I help athletes manage serious injury and stress. The common goal is to develop a deep understanding of how physical and mental health intersect.
I make quick connections with people and immediately make clients feel at ease. Our focus will be on thoughts and behaviors which cause distress, taking into account all the potential physical, emotional and social aspects of recovery. I specialize in CBT, which is highly customized and modified for each client depending on their unique issues.
I am a graduate of Columbia University and Einstein College of Medicine, and did a fellowship in Eating Disorders at Harvard Medical School. I have also trained in medical trauma, rehabilitation, neuropsychology, pain management, and nutrition. I am certified in CBT and ACT, and nationally registered as a health service psychologist.
