About
It is my belief that therapy is a collaborative effort between client and counselor. Therefore, during our sessions we will work together to define your goals, illuminate critical issues, and explore specific patterns of behavior, emotions, and feelings. Our work together begins as we sift through your past and present relationships, family dynamics, and important life themes. As a resource for processing, I can offer you insight, suggestions, and encouragement towards achieving your goals. I believe that if you understand the feelings behind your beliefs you will achieve clarity to make different choices. Together we will develop strategies to faciltate change.
Relationships are inherently painful. They are, perhaps, our greatest source of pain. Learning to work with our pain, rather than avoid or resist it, is one of the hardest things we face in our lifetime.
Because we can not avoid discomfort, one must learn to work with discomfort. One of my fundamental goals as a therapist is to assist my clients in developing tools and strategies to work with their pain.
