Many clients who work with me feel that their romantic, family, or career relationships have left them drained, overfunctioning, and out of touch with who they really are. This imbalance often leads to symptoms and behaviors that cause additional layers of distress, and to undervaluing their own emotional lives. I also see many clients with high sensitivity, deep empathy, and an extended capacity for care that can leave them feeling different or disconnected. Their goals for therapy are to feel more authentic in their relationships, more at ease in their bodies, and more at peace in the world around them.
In sessions, I help clients explore their emotional needs and where the gaps might be in their boundaries and self-care. We also look closely at core relationships both past and present to discover how communication and assertiveness might help with balance and healing. Self-awareness work is balanced by self-compassion, gentle honesty, and good humor.
Counseling takes courage and hard work, and I deeply respect whatever part of the path you find yourself on right now.
