Hello I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for working with children, adolescents, and individuals struggling with trauma either current or past. I work collaboratively with clients to explore their emotions, avoidances, recurring patterns, and past and present experiences and relationships. I strive to provide a listening and empathic presence, encourage interpretation and insight to work through presenting problems to achieve your desired goal(s). My hope is that my creative, caring, and straight forward approach to therapy provides a therapeutic relationship that allows you to feel welcomed, supported, and heard.
Area of focus: trauma, EMDR, anxiety, relationships, domestic/Intimate partner violence. I appeal to clients struggling with contradictory feelings of understanding your self-worth and self-esteem, trusting/connecting to others, feelings of hopelessness or helplessness, decision-making problems, and contradictions of how things are "suppose" to be or feel.
My goal is to encourage and empower the client to overcome self-defeating habits by improving their relationship with themselves and others, improving communication/emotional skills etc., to free themselves from bonds from the past and present to effectively face life's challenges.
